Life Force Marketing: 10 Steps to a Healthier Small Business
This 10-step approach can help you attract more clients, make more revenue, and learn to enjoy the process
OVERVIEW of the 10 Steps
from Meriah’s book: Life Force Marketing

Part 1:
Mindset Matters
Step One: Envision
ENVISION the Business You Want
For every marketing project, Step One is reviewing your Vision.
Where are you intending to go? What is the result you want? Even if you’re already established in your business, refreshing your Vision is necessary because it guides you to the best decisions based on your most current offers, services and ideal clients.
Without a clear, powerful Vision, you’re like a ship without a destination, cruising the big wide world but never landing anywhere, never experiencing the thrill of coming into port.
Additionally, a clear Vision will sustain your perseverance, a must-have reservoir for every solopreneur and small business.
Step Two: Revise
REVISE the Stories You Tell Yourself, About Yourself
Know how to address your inner dialogue, create supportive mindframes, and stay positive while you build your business, even on the days when you feel stuck or discouraged.
Step Three: Remember
REMEMBER your resources, a fresh way of looking at assets.
Experience a renaissance in understanding the power of your existing resources. This can alter the way you perceive yourself and communicate your value to others.
Part 2:
Know your ideal client,
create a story to attract them
Step Four: Choose
CHOOSE the people you want to serve and what to offer them.
Understand what a target audience and ideal client are, why you should choose one and how to make the choice. You’ll develop a new sense of clarity about your purpose. This is the basis of all the marketing you will do as it determines who the most important people are who should hear your story. Even the most experienced marketers can benefit from re-visiting and clarifying their ideal client/target audience/client Avatar.
Step Five: Compose
COMPOSE your compelling stories
Discover the best stories to tell about yourself and your work. You’ll create your elevator speech, business name, one-minute conversation, leading questions, and a biographical statement. From these stories you begin to compose all the words and images you will need for every marketing channel, from your website to your social media profiles. You’ll learn to express yourself simultaneously from the Heart and the Mind.
Part 3:
Make important decisions,
put your marketing to work
Step Six: Select
SELECT a strategy for spreading your stories.
You’ll survey the marketing channels, both local and online, that you could use to share your stories with potential clients. You’ll be guided to select the 2, 3 or 4 best channels for you, taking into account your talents, interests and how your ideal client will most easily be reached. You’ll learn to relax and enjoy the ride rather than feeling overwhelmed!
Step Seven: Build
BUILD your marketing infrastructure.
Many people try to start their marketing efforts right here, in Step 7, without doing all the initial work first. When it’s finally time to build out your marketing channels — your website, Facebook page, social media profiles, brochures and business cards and blog posts, etc. — this chapter will help you make informed decisions. You’ll also explore the advantages and disadvantages of building infrastructure yourself vs. hiring someone to help.
Part 4:
Ongoing practices for continued growth
Step Eight: Enlist
ENLIST others to encourage and teach you, keep you on track.
Understand the importance of having a formal or informal team behind you, and also what’s reasonable to expect from different kinds of helpers. You’ll learn some of the essential questions to ask when choosing contractors or team members.
Step Nine: Continue
CONTINUE to follow-up, look forward, monitor, listen, and revise.
Delve into the long-term process of maintaining a business over time, including what to pay attention to and how to prepare for changes in your clientele, services or the business climate itself. Continuing is the phase of your business when you can create momentum, build a reputation, and achieve at the highest levels.
Step Ten: Celebrate
CELEBRATE Every Victory!
Come away with a deep-seated understanding that celebrating every victory is not just the cherry on top, but a commitment to yourself that will catapult your success. Define specific ways you can celebrate both the small and large victories that come your way in order to stay energized and grateful.
