Massage therapy: 25 years in private practice, serving over 2000 clients. Instructed at Lexington Healing Arts Academy.
Movement Instruction: 35 years in various contexts: Be Free to Move, the Kentucky Arts Council, Very Special Arts/KY, Kentucky Collaborative for Teaching and Learning, and private studios in Central Kentucky, especially Syncopated, Inc. and Modern Dance/KY
Other influences: recently has been slowly familiarizing herself with the Jeremy Krauss Abilities approach, another near-miraculous somatic method.
Meditation and Mindset Technologies: Meriah has been studying and practicing various approaches to meditation and other mindset systems for over 50 years. On a more personal note... Between 2009 and 2020 I lost 45 pounds and have kept it off since. I went from being classified as “obese” to “moderately overweight”. Despite this accomplishment, I found the last 20 pounds I wanted to lose were very stubborn. In the meantime I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes and then early-stage endometrial cancer. Finally I concluded that in order to get to my goal weight and stay there, and to live a long and healthy life, I would have to give up sugar. I didn’t feel confident I could do it because I LOVE DESSERT! cookies, brownies, cake, pudding, tira misu, crème brulee, cobbler, candy, pie, chocolate, ice cream, and mocha lattes… I generally ate sugar every day, often more than once.
I knew I couldn’t get off sugar with willpower alone. As a long-time holistic practitioner, I understood I would have to address not just the physical, but also the emotional and mental sides of Sugar Cravings. It was for that reason that I created my own regime. Eventually, I discovered and refined an approach that worked! It wasn’t nearly as difficult as I was expecting.
This approach is what I’m now making available to YOU, as the Freedom from Sugar program. The teachings and experiences I’m sharing with you are the same steps I used (and continue to use) to be free from sugar. I am now free from compulsively eating sugar and my weight and blood sugar continue to steadily drop with much less effort on my part.
